B L U E L A N D | science & art village
Australia is in the global forefront of sustainable research & living. Our ocean renewable energy resources such as waves and tidal energy are immense, but are currently under-explored. The White Bay Power Station, with full access to the waterways and connection to the CBD, proves great potential to be transformed into a leading sustainable educational and cultural precinct. By bringing together world-class artists and scientists together in a free exchange of ideas, a new typology of science and art collaboration is born. The brief proposes the creation of B L U E L A N D | marine energy research & art village, which consists of a performative research center, a holographic bar-gallery, artist studios, and a 24hr library. This would mark the beginning of an unparalleled sustainable district in New South Wales.
